David Siskin - Founder & President David Siskin brings a wealth of successful experience in strategic marketing, building brands and growing companies. From consumer products to service businesses, from start-ups to multi-national corporations, Siskin has successfully applied creative, analytical and organizational skills to making great ideas become a business reality. Siskin most recently started a company sharedHR (www.sharedhr.com), which is a unique web based HRIS system that provides proprietary processes, documents and forms to help ensure Human Resources are in compliance with federal and state regulations. He developed the business and marketing plan, assembled the team, put financial systems in place, launched the product, and integrated the technology with a payroll application. SharedHR is currently a thriving organization located in San Rafael, California. Prior to sharedHR, Siskin founded, Addwater, to help retail companies integrate the shopping experience across catalogue, web and in-store environments. In 2001, Siskin grew the business to over $30 million in revenues in a three year time frame, and was recognized by the San Francisco Business Journal three years in a row as being one of the top ten fastest growing companies in the Bay Area. Siskin was one of the early partners of CKS Partners, the integrated marketing communications company known for pioneering the use of technology and new media in communications. As general manager of CKS Partners' San Francisco, Siskin advised companies such as McDonald's, Sears, MCI, Visa, United Airlines and Pacific Telesis, as well as a variety of start-up businesses. He lead some of the world's largest branding programs that included the redesign of McDonald's packaging worldwide and the United Airlines graphic identity on planes and in terminals. Siskin and his CKS team were particularly effective at applying their technical knowledge to non-technical companies and in integrating technology in consumer marketing. Siskin played a major role in the development of CKS from a start-up company to approximately $60 million in revenues in five years, culminating with their initial public offering in December, 1995. Siskin spent more than 10 years as a consumer products marketing executive with Young and Rubicam, Grey Advertising and Foote, Cone & Belding. He was instrumental in the development and launch of major national consumer products and brands for such companies as Procter & Gamble, Johnson & Johnson and Clorox. In addition, Siskin has started numerous companies of his own, including a successful Bay Area marketing consulting firm specializing in food and beverage products, a wholesale and retail food products company and most recently a product design and development company that manages creative projects and outsources top talent around the world. A long time resident of the San Francisco Bay Area, Siskin grew up in New York and graduated from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. When he's not starting, running, or advising a fledgling company, he enjoys sailing, golfing and running. He participates on the Board of Directors of numerous start-up and high-growth organizations. |
